Guide: The Doctor and Martha Jones materialise into a very hot spaceship, the S.S. Pentallian, it’s hurtling, uncontrollably towards a boiling hot sun. The Doctor and Martha are trapped in the spaceship because the room that the TARDIS was in was too hot to cross, and there were 42 minutes until the spaceship collided into the burning sun.
The Doctor then realises that Korwin, one of the spaceship crew, had began vaporising his crewmates, as well as telling people to keep away from him, he was possessed. Martha and Riley, in terror, lock themselves up in an escape capsule, to find themselves pummelling towards the sun themselves. The Doctor manages to rescue them using some magnetic pulling forces.
Before long, the Doctor himself was possessed by the sun. With his eyes closed, he asks the crew to place him in the cryogenic stasis machine and released the sun entity out of him. McDonnell lures Korwin to an air lock, and opens the airlock, sucking both of them out into space to safe the crew. Martha releases the spaceship’s fuel back into the sun (McDonnell had taken fuel from the sun without checking for life-signs), stopping the gravitational pull and saving the rest of the crew members, Martha and the Doctor. The Doctor thanks Martha for saving his life and gives her her own key to the TARDIS.
In the end, we see Francine (Martha’s mother) talking to her daughter over the phone with woman and men in suits. Once she hangs up, the men confiscated the phone. The woman thanks Francine for all her help and says, “Mr Saxon will be very grateful”.
